BDI assisted Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) – with a multiphase 367-acre site development project to locate a regional NFCU headquarters in Pensacola, Florida.
In Phase I of the campus expansion, the NFCU added facilities for 2,000 new NFCU employees. Improvements in Phase I included adding a central energy plant for backup power, two new office buildings, a commons (amenities) building, a multi-story parking deck, several surface lots for at-grade parking, and roadways throughout. The project also included a recreation area with ballfields, basketball courts, an outside pavilion, and jogging/bicycle paths. This facility expansion also included a wastewater lift station upgrade.
In Phase II, the NFCU added a north expansion to its main campus in preparation for adding an additional 5,000 new NFCU employees for a campus total of 10,000. This Phase is located north of the existing 4-H pond and west of Navy Federal Way.
New roadways and parking lots were provided throughout the project, including an elevated roadway with precast panel retaining walls, and two new bridges. New state road connections at the project perimeter required signalization and other improvements, with associated Florida Department of Transportation permitting.
